Ousmane Dembélé rejects mega-money offer from Saudi Arabia
Dembélé's current deal is set to expire on 30 June 2024, but Barça are willing to keep the French winger until 2027.
Barcelona have to make sales over the coming weeks in order to register their players with LaLiga ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
According to Footmercato, Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembélé has rejected a five-year, $45 million per season offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.
Al-Nassr were also reportedly planning to pay the Frenchman’s $55 million release clause, however, Dembélé is preparing to extend his stay with reigning LaLiga champions Barça and decline the offer of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League.
Dembélé extension
Dembélé and his agent Moussa Sissokho have held talks with Barcelona directors over a contract extension. The 26-year-old’s current deal is set to expire on 30 June 2024, but Barça are willing to keep the winger until 2027.
The former Borussia Dortmund attacker continues to have injury problems but delivers with the Catalans when available. In the 2022-23 campaign, the France international missed 17 games in all competitions for Xavi’s side due to hamstring issues. He netted five goals and registered seven assists in 25 LaLiga appearances as the Blaugrana went on to lift the league title.
