The international break has had an impact on clubs and players ahead of a packed schedule over the coming weeks. On this occasion, there has been a total of 26 injuries. The worst affected team was undoubtedly Barcelona. Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay, Jules Koundé and Ronald Araújo have all picked up injuries. Araújo was the worst affected, as he had to undergo surgery and has a long recovery period of up to three months ahead of him, with his presence at the World Cup in Qatar in doubt.

Milan and Arsenal are the other two worst hit teams, with three injuries each. The Italians have lost Simon Kjaer, Sandro Tonali and Mike Maignan, while the Premier League side have lost Takehiro Tomiyasu, Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney. In LaLiga, there are two more absentees. Real Madrid’s Luka Modric is out for eight to 10 days with a hip problem and Getafe’s Enes Ünal picked up an injury with Turkey.
