Manchester United have announced the departure of French midfielder Paul Pogba, whose contract expires at Old Trafford this month.

Pogba returned to United for a second spell in 2016, joining from Juventus for over €100 million.

The 29-year-old is being linked with another move to the Serie A giants after a disappointing time at United.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that Pogba’s lawyers will have a second meeting with Juventus, making the Italian side the favourites to land the World Cup winner.

Pogba only made 20 appearances league appearances in his final season with the Premier League club and has long been linked with a move to PSG and Real Madrid as well as Juve.

Manchester United confirm departure

In a statement released on their website, United said: “The club can announce that Paul Pogba will leave Manchester United at the end of June, upon the expiry of his contract.

“Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Paul on his successful career, and thank him for his contributions to Manchester United.

“We wish him all the best for the next steps on a remarkable journey.”

Under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, Pogba won the EFL Cup and Europa League. He leaves United having made 157 Premier League appearances, scoring 29 goals and registering 38 assists.
