Paunovic’s Chivas starting to purr
CD Guadalajara recorded their second win in the Copa Sky and fans are now getting to see the style of play imposed by new coach Paunovic.
Veljko Paunovic’s Chivas Guadalajara side are now beginning to show what type of team opponents and defenders can expect in the forthcoming Clausura 2023 Tournament with the team showing impressive attacking prowess. The style of play was never more apparent when the Guadalajara side offered too much in a 4-0 Copa Sky win over Santos Laguna.
The Jalisco Stadium was the venue for their second game of the Sky Cup, a friendly tournament in which 10 Liga MX clubs participate as part of the preparation for the next campaign and the top two sides from both five team groups progressing with Chivas now topping Group B on six points.
Three goals on the night from Santiago Ormeño left Santos with no option as they sit on top of the group with two wins from two games and are starting to look like a side with added cohesion.
Chivas now face a stiff test against Tigres before winding up the group stage with a local derby against Atlas and as things stand with America topping Group A, a pre-season ‘Super Clasico’ could be just around the corner.
