The Peruvian squad is already in the Spanish capital, which will be the base ahead of the Germany and Morocco friendly games.
The Peruvian national team, led by head coach Juan Máximo Reynoso, arrived in Madrid on Monday as the ‘Bicolor’ prepares for the two forthcoming friendly games against Germany (Mainz, 25/03) and Morocco (Madrid, 28/03).
The squad will train in the Spanish capital until Thursday (23rd) before taking the two hour flight on Friday (24th) to Frankfurt (Germany). The game against the Mannschaft takes place on Saturday in Mainz where just a handful of tickets remain for the attractive international friendly.
Lapadula arrives in Madrid
Gianluca Lapadula, Cagliari’s top scorer with 15 goals, was one of the European based players to join delegation and spoke to the media upon arriving in the Spanish capital. “I am going through an important moment and I hope to continue on this path, I am very happy to return to the national team”, he told the press.
Asked about the high profile of the forthcoming opponents in Germany and Morocco, the striker was optimistic. “Playing with teams of this profile will help improve in all aspects, this is the type of games we need ahead of the World Cup qualifiers. Why not think about a win against a team like Germany? You have to always fight, every game”, he added.
