Pogba ruled out for Sevilla semi-final
The Frenchman will miss the second leg of the semifinals at the Sánchez Pizjuán after suffering an injury against Cremonese.
Juventus’ Paul Pogba has been ruled out of Thursday’s Europa League semi-final second leg in Seville after sustaining a muscular problem on Sunday.
The Turin based club confirmed the news via a communique confirming that the French international has a “a low-grade injury in the rectus femoris” in the left thigh, with Pogba now undergoing a “rehabilitation program”, the Italian club reported on Monday.
Although ‘Juve’ did not specify fixed recovery times, a muscular injury of this nature traditionally requires at least two weeks recovery time. The player will miss the key Sánchez Pizjuán clash and could even be ruled out for the rest of the season which is a major blow to his morale after being sidelined for over a year with a knee issue which caused him to miss the 2022 World Cup.
His last first team start came 390 days ago wearing the red Manchester United shirt in an April, 2022 Premier League clash. He moved to Juve last summer as a free agent and sustained the torn meniscus in pre-season with the Serie A side.
