Pogba suffers first scare with Juve
The French midfielder had to leave Sunday’s training session after complaining of discomfort in his right knee. For now, the club has rules out tests.
The great unknown when Paul Pogba joined Juventus was his physical condition. The French midfielder has been sidelined several times during his career due to various fitness problems and barely made 62 appearances in his last three seasons with Manchester United in the Premier League. Today, Pogba suffered his first such scare since his return to the Vecchia Signora.
During the Juve’s first training session in Los Angeles, the France international complained of discomfort in his right knee and had to leave the session with the help of the medical staff, unable to walk on his own.
Pogba to take it easy for a couple of days
The image of Pogba hobbling off the pitch caused a lot of concern at Juventus, but the player himself tried to reassure everyone by gesturing that he was ‘Ok’. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pogba’s scare has not yet set off alarm bells at the club. The player will rest for a couple of days and, at the moment, no tests are scheduled for his knee. It is a “small annoyance” and, with the start of the official competition less than a month away, the Bianconeri want to avoid any type of risk. Pogba’s progress will be analysed in the next few hours.
