One of the Liga MX’s most in-form players is Pachuca’s Kevin Álvarez, who was part of Mexico’s squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Due to his talent, some clubs in the Mexican top flight have tried to sign the right-back, but he has made it clear that he wants to move to European soccer.

Porto keen on $10m-rated Álvarez

This dream may be about to come true, as Portuguese club Porto are keeping close tabs on Álvarez, according to the newspaper A Bola. The Lisbon-based publication adds that Pachuca are willing to sell the 24-year-old as long as they receive a fee of around $10 million.

Álvarez to follow in Herrera’s footsteps?

It would not be the first time that Pachuca and Porto have done transfer business, as Los Tuzos sold Mexico midfielder Héctor Herrera to the Portuguese champions in 2013.

So far, defender César Montes and goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa are the only Mexican players to have left the Liga MX for Europe following the World Cup. In the summer. Jorge Sánchez and Santiago Giménez made the move to the old continent, joining Ajax and Feyenoord, respectively.
