It’s top against bottom at the Emirates Stadium on Friday as Arsenal take on Southampton in the Premier League.

Arsenal are favourites to win this one, especially after their recent slip-ups, but the Saints also need the points before they slip into the Championship.

The Gunners have never lost in 23 Premier League home games against Southampton - the most one side has hosted another without ever losing in the competition.

Manchester City are breathing down Arsenal’s neck and are just four points behind Mikel Arteta’s side with a game in hand.

Arsenal travel to take on City

Arsenal threw away a 2-0 lead against West Ham last weekend and will be aiming to put things right before their intriguing upcoming trip to the Etihad to take on City on Wednesday.

With City in FA Cup semi-final action this weekend, Arsenal have the chance to move seven points clear at the top of the table on Friday.

Arsenal team news

Defender William Saliba is unavailable for the match due to back problems, while the versatile Oleksandr Zinchenko is suffering from a groin issue that kept him out against West Ham. The Ukraine international could start on the bench.

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny are back sidelined with longer-term knee issues.
