The best in the West go head-to-head on Saturday evening with LAFC and Houston Dynamo battling for a place in MLS Cup.

Steve Cherundolo’s side return to BMO Stadium after an impressive road victory over Seattle Sounders in the Western Conference semi-final. LAFC are the reigning MLS Cup champions and are just two matches away from retaining their crown.

They take on a Houston team that have been reborn since head coach Ben Olsen took over one year ago. After failing to make the playoffs in any of the past five seasons Olsen has guided the team to the Western Conference final. Houston also lifted the US Open Cup earlier this season and are closing in on a historic double. They have shown enormous improvement this year but they face tough opposition in front of a packed-out BMO Stadium.

Saturday’s game brings together some of the biggest names in MLS to battle for a spot in the 2023 MLS Cup. The likes of Denis Bouanga, Carlos Vela, Héctor Herrera and Adalberto Carrasquilla will all be hoping to make their mark on the game.

LAFC - Houston Dynamo: Possible lineups

Both Steve Cherundolo and Ben Olsen have full squads to call upon for Saturday’s game. Despite some inconsistencies during the regular season both teams look to have found form at the perfect time and we expect that there will be very few changes for the 2023 Western Conference final.

“What we learned from last year is that you don’t know who is going to impact the match, and when. It’s very important that everyone is engaged,” Cherundolo said ahead of the game. “I don’t know who’s going to be the hero. It’s so important that we’re all engaged and we all know our roles so that we’re ready when we are called upon.”

Here’s how the two teams could line up on Saturday...

LAFC predicted lineup

Maxime Crépeau, Diego Palacios, Giorgio Chiellini, Jesús Murillo, Ryan Hollingshead, Kellyn Acosta, Illie Sánchez, Timothy Tillman, Carlos Vela, Mateusz Bogusz and Denis Bouanga.

Houston Dynamo predicted lineup

Steve Clark, Griffin Dorsey, Erik Sviatchenko, Micael Dos Santos, Franco Escobar, Artur, Héctor Herrera, Adalberto Carrasquilla, Amine Bassi, Nelson Quiñones and Corey Baird.
