City went into the international break after a pulsating 4-4 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The reigning league champions currently have a one-point lead over the Reds ahead of what promises to be a fascinating affair in the early kickoff.
Will Haaland feature?
Erling Haaland suffered more ankle issues while playing for Norway against the Faroe Islands in a friendly last week. Norwegian team doctor Ola Sand admitted the 23-year-old suffered an ankle sprain and that he would “receive some treatment and, above all, rest”.
Guardiola on Haaland
In Friday’s press conference, City boss Pep Guardiola said Haaland had taken part in training on Thursday “with some niggles” and that he would “hopefully” play against Liverpool on Saturday.
Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Gómez are long-term absentees for City, while defender John Stones is working to be fit to feature. Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes could also miss out.
