Update:

Gianluca Prestianni has spoken out on his social media accounts after UEFA’s Appeals Committee decided not to hear Benfica’s appeal against his suspension, ruling him out of the second leg of the Champions League play-off at the Bernabéu.

The Argentine forward did not hold back, criticising both UEFA and Real Madrid in a post he deleted minutes later. “You can punch someone off the ball and there’s no punishment. You can punish without evidence. They’re not even trying to hide it with Real Madrid any more. They’re a disgrace,” he wrote, alongside another post showing Valverde’s challenge in the first leg.

Prestianni was referring both to his own suspension and to UEFA’s decision to dismiss Benfica’s complaint against the Uruguayan midfielder, whom the Portuguese club accused of punching Dahl in the closing minutes of the first leg.

As a result of the rejected appeal, Prestianni will miss Wednesday’s match at the Bernabéu. UEFA provisionally suspended him for one game last Monday while investigating the alleged racist insults directed at Vinícius at the Estádio da Luz.

José Mourinho will also be absent from the Bernabéu, as he must serve the suspension he received following his dismissal in the first leg.
