PSG are looking for a new coach: who will be the new manager?

Although Galtier has reclaimed his position with two victories, it is unlikely that he will continue as boss of the French side next season.

Christophe Galtier’s future will come to a head when the month of June arrives. The coach, who has been heavily criticised for PSG’s poor results over the course of the year, suffering double the amount of defeats than in 2022, has been saved in the short term thanks to 2 positive games. Wins over Nice and Lens have guaranteed his immediate future on the PSG bench, although the good fortune will only last until the end of the season.

PSG, who showed him their unconditional support last week after the serious accusations of racism (which he denied), are not giving away any clues about the next name on the bench; what is clear is that Galtier’s continuity depends solely and exclusively on the club finding a successor. If the Parisians do not make a decision, the 56-year-old coach would continue one more season and complete the remaining year of his contract.

Galtier has until the end of the season

On the contrary, if PSG finds a coach, Galtier will be sent packing his bags. The club insist that no decision will be made until the end of the season, so now the objective of the man from Marseille is to get as many points as possible in Ligue 1 and achieve the club’s eleventh title.

At the moment, PSG have not identified any coach as Galtier’s replacement. There was talk of Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann, wanted by Chelsea, as potential candidates, but there has been no contact so far. The name of Mourinho, who, according to Foot-Mercato, could leave Roma to sign for PSG is another possibility, but again, there have been no concrete approaches. The only thing that is clear is that Galtier’s hours are numbered in Paris if the club finally find a replacement for him.
