PSG consider selling Neymar in the summer

PSG are currently going through a crisis on the pitch and in the dressing room, one that could affect them in the Champions League against Bayern Munich on Tuesday. One of the most notable players in the debacle in Monaco was Neymar, who got into an argument in the dressing room with sporting advisor Luis Campos at the end of the game and the Brazil international also clashed with Ekitiké and Vitinha on the pitch.

PSG, despite the player’s good performances this season, are considering selling him in the summer. The problem is his high salary and his contractual situation. Neymar was automatically renewed until 2027, and he is one of the highest-paid players in the squad, with no European team able to afford his wages going forward.

Neymar’s output in 2022-23

Neymar’s numbers this season are impressive. In 27 games, the PSG forward has 17 goals and 16 assists, although his performance level after the World Cup has not been the same as it was during the first three months of the season. The Ligue 1 side want to keep fellow forwards Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé, but the possible sale of Ney is once again the topic of conversation at board level.
