Keylor Navas has been told that he will be second-choice goalkeeper behind Gianluigi Donnarumma this season at Paris Saint-Germain under manager Christophe Galtier. So the Costa Rica international is looking to switch teams this summer in search of more minutes with the FIFA World Cup less than 100 days away from starting.

The goal is for Navas to arrive in peak form in Qatar to help Costa Rica advance past the group stage and according to L’Equipe, Napoli is his next destination. PSG and the Serie A side are finalising the details of the transfer before making it official.

When could Navas arrive in Italy?

The summer transfer window in Serie A will close on 1 September and both sides are speeding up the process so Navas can join his new team as soon as possible. It is expected that a deal will finally be reached next week and the 35-year-old could make his debut in Italy’s top tier on 28 August against Fiorentina.

Navas is expected to arrive at Napolo on a season-long loan and become the starter throughout the campaign. He will take over the spot that was left vacant by David Ospina, who signed for Saudi Professional League club Al Nassr earlier this summer.
