Neymar knows that his PSG future may be coming to an end. The news reported by RMC was confirmed by the Spanish newspaper El País, according to sources close to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Al-Khelaifi reportedly wants to impose more discipline in the club, with Kylian Mbappé leading the new setup. According to El País, Mbappé is said to have singled out Neymar for his lack of discipline in training and during post-match recoveries.

All change at PSG

This new period of change at the Ligue 1 club began with Mbappé's contract extension until 2025. It continued to take shape with the departure of sporting director Leonardo and the arrival of sporting advisor Luis Campos.

Faced with a possible departure, PSG met with Neymar’s father and guaranteed the payments that will be owed. El País report that the Brazilian forward is owed up to €200 million. PSG are reportedly willing to pay Neymar’s full salary at his next club. This, according to El País, would be collected through his foundation in Brazil, Instituto Neymar Jr.

PSG sources quoted by El País say that Luis Campos will be the mana in charge of Neymar’s move. Neymar is not happy with the news and is said to feel humiliated.

Underperforming Neymar

The same PSG sources, as quoted by El País, said: “Neymar doesn’t like to train; he has played with three or four extra kilos for years, but he has also been the most honest forward in the team, the one who has run the most and to defend the most.

Neymar, 30, knows he under-performed last season in comparison with other PSG players. He scored 13 goals and managed eight assists in 28 matches. It was not until after PSG crashed out of the Champions League against Real Madrid that he started questioning his future.

In an interview with French outlet Le Parisien, Al-Khlelaifi discussed Neymar’s possible departure.

“A possible departure of Neymar this summer? What I can tell you is that we expect all the players to do much more than last season, much more! They all have to be at 100 percent”.
