PSG keeping tabs on both Zinedine Zidane and Thomas Tuchel
The PSG bosses are becoming impatient after the recent performances from Galtier’s side; the game against Lille could be crucial.
The latest slip up from PSG, this time in the Champions League against Bayern, has put Galtier in the spotlight once again. The 56-year-old manager has suffered more defeats in 2023 than in the whole of 2022, which makes the game against Lille potentially make or break.
According to Le Parisien, the PSG board are already getting itchy and could sack him if they lose against Lille. For the top brass at the club, Galtier is losing credit fast and his presence on the touchline for the next Champions League game is far from guaranteed.
Zidane is number one on the list
The name of Zinedine Zidane has begun to appear on the horizon. For a long time now, Qatar have dreamt of signing up the ex-Madrid coach, whose main objective was to succeed Deschamps as manager of the French National team, something that looks impossible after his renovation.
In fact, the French club made ground on their negotiations with Zizou, but he declined the offer after believing that Deschamps would not continue at the helm of the 2018 World Champions. Galtier, who has never been more under fire than now, must start to find form from somewhere over the next two games, against Lille on Sunday and Marseille on the 26th of February if he does not want to say an early goodbye to his adventure on the PSG bench.

Is going back to your ex a good idea?
Another name that is being sounded out as a potential replacement is, surprisingly, that of Thomas Tuchel. The German left PSG in 2020 after being sacked by Leonardo for personal reasons. After being sacked by Chelsea at the beginning of the season, some inside PSG are content with a potential return if Galtier does not get past Bayern in the Champions League.
