Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi says that accusations made against him by Franco-Algerian lobbyist Tayeb Benabderrahmane are part of a criminal plot to take him down and that the accuser has no reliable evidence against him. Al Khelaïfi made a brief statement claiming that he is not at all concerned by the allegations that have been made.

Al-Khelaïfi statement: “petty criminals” have “manipulated the media”

“We are talking about professional criminals. They have changed lawyers more often than they have changed their stories and more often than they have lied. This is the highest form of media manipulation. I am amazed that so many people have taken his lies and contradictions to be credible, but that is the media world we find ourselves in today. Justice will take its course. I don’t have time to talk about professional petty criminals”. said Al-Khelaïfi.

Benabderrahmane filed a complaint several months ago stating that he had been kidnapped and tortured in Qatar in 2020, a move which he alleges was orchestrated by the PSG president. Three investigating judges in Paris have been appointed to examine the accusations and will decide whether the evidence presented is enough to charge Al-Khelaïfi or whether the case is dropped. The PSG boss and his advisers are entirely unworried by the claims and reiterate that Tayeb is a criminal with no proof whatsoever of the claims being made.
