Paris Saint-Germain are planning a major shake-up of the squad this summer after the failure of the Ligue 1 giants to get past the last 16 of the Champions League and Neymar is among those player the Parc des Princes are willing to offload to free up space and salary for new arrivals, with Erling Haaland, Mo Salah and Cristiano Ronaldo among potential recruits for the forward line.

According to Sky Sports, PSG are willing to listen to offers in the region of €90 million for the Brazilian star, who arrived in Paris for a world record transfer fee of €222m in 2017. That, the outlet reports, is the minimum that PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi will accept to allow Neymar to leave.

Neymar wants to see out PSG contract

However, there is one small complication for the PSG board’s designs: Neymar wants to see out of the remaining three years of his contract at the Parc des Princes. After PSG wrapped up the Ligue 1 title with a 1-1 draw against Lens last weekend, Neymar told ESPN that it was “surreal that part of the crowd left the stadium” in protest at the running of the club – and an ongoing signal to the players that more was expected on the pitch this season – and warned the dissenters among PSG fans that they will “get tired of booing” because he has no intention of leaving. It also remains to be see how many clubs would be willing to stump up almost €100m on a 30-year-old, although Barça president Joan Laporta would certainly be among those to pick up the phone to see what could be done.

PSG clear-out to include Draxler and Paredes

According to L’Equipe, PSG have also identified Julian Draxler, Layvin Kurzawa, Leandro Paredes and Thilo Kehrer as players that will be allowed to leave this summer. With Kylian Mbappé's future still up in the air, PSG are wary of leaving themselves short if a last-minute deal is made for the France forward but the Ligue 1 side have a large squad to trim.
