The tension between Kylian Mbappé and PSG has already begun to open up fissures within the dressing room. According to information from RMC Sport, six member of the first team squad, including two recent arrivals, have expressed their annoyance with the striker’s statements published in Saturday’s edition of France Football, in which he assured that PSG doesn’t value what he brings to the team. Those feelings have been made known to the man at the top, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the French media reported.

One of the players who was offended by the France Football interview told Al-Khelaïfi that Mbappé's words are “an insult to the club”. It is the first time, at least publicly, that PSG players have expressed their discontent with the club’s all-time top scorer. Until now, Mbappé was practically untouchable.

No respect for team mates

Mbappé, who is currently in Cameroon, has also angered Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. According to RMC Sport, the PSG president does not understand why the player has made such insinuations and yet he remains at the club. The Qatari also considers his statements as “a total lack of respect for all the members of the PSG squad”.

The club has already given the player an ultimatum. If he does not renew, something that right now seems highly unlikely, in the next two weeks, he will put it up for sale and PSG will listen to offers for him. Although Mbappé has reiterated that he wants to fulfill his last year of contract, his statements have turned the dressing room upside down and coexistence is becoming increasingly remote. The footballer, a priori, is due to return to training on 17 July.
