Paris Saint-Germain take on Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday after losing in Ligue 1 to Monaco at the weekend.

Kylian Mbappé will likely start the game on the bench, having recovered from a thigh injury picked up recently against Montpellier on 1 February. The Frenchman was forced off injured after missing two penalties in the Ligue 1 clash.

Lionel Messi returned to PSG training on Monday and Spanish creator Carlos Soler could also be given the nod in an attacking midfield role with Mbappé not fully fit.

In France, L’Équipe are reporting that 16-year-old Warren Zaïre-Emery could start in midfield alongside Danilo and Marco Verratti.

Neymar speaks pre-match

PSG forward Neymar attended today’s press conference along with PSG head coach Christophe Galtier.

“I’m feeling good, physically and mentally. Criticism is legitimate, everyone is entitled to their opinion, their point of view... I respect that. I’m doing everything I can for the club and the team. I will do that until the end of the season,” Neymar said.

He added: “I have a lot of faith in myself. I’ve always been at a top level since I came to Europe. I know what I’m capable of and my qualities. We’re all ready for the clash. We have a great team to put in a strong performance.”
