Pulisic and McKennie in fine form ahead of USMNT games
The two Serie A players are in fantastic form ahead of the upcoming international fixtures.
With the CONCACAF Nations League Final Four just weeks away, Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie are experiencing their best form in Italy’s Serie A, sending a message to the rest of the teams in the region looking to dethrone the Americans.
On Sunday, the American winger reached 8 goals and 6 assists in Serie A, meaning he has been involved in 14 goals this season, and is one goal away from matching his career-best tally.
“I feel in very good shape, up there with the best of my career. Everyone gives me great confidence, the staff, the coach, the teammates, the fans, the city” Pulisic said in an interview with DAZN.
However, Pulisic will not be the only one who will be in the hunt for a three-time CONCACAF Nations League championship. Midfielder Weston McKennie is also enjoying a fine moment with Juventus.
The midfielder leads the assist table along with Olivier Giroud and Theo Hernández, after getting to nine assists in the 2-2 draw between Juventus and Atalanta. However, despite McKennie’s form, his Juventus side are not top of the Serie A table. The Old Lady sit second in the division and are a whopping 16 points behind Inter. McKennie’s form comes as something of a surprise this season after he was sent out on loan last year to English club Leeds United.
There, McKennie failed to live up to expectations and looked off the pace from minute one in the Premier League, eventually seeing Leeds United relegated along with USMNT teammates Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams.
But that was then and this is now. Both players will arrive at the March 21 match against Jamaica in fantastic form, where they will look to qualify for the final and continue their great performances against the CONCACAF sides who, as said, are all on a mission to knock the crown from the USMNT players’ heads.
