Pumas fans are eager for Aaron Ramsey’s debut: here’s when it could happen
Ahead of the Liga MX’s Apertura 2025 tournament, the Welsh midfielder arrived as a marquee signing for Pumas.
Unlike in previous campaigns, Pumas have been active in the transfer market and have pulled off a major signing: Aaron Ramsey. As the Liga MX Apertura 2025 rolls on this weekend, the Welsh midfielder has yet to make his debut.
When will Ramsey make his debut?
The club is eyeing the end of August as a potential window for Ramsey’s first appearance in Liga MX. By then, the Mexican league will be entering matchdays 6 and 7 of the Apertura 2025 tournament.
Los Universitarios are due to host Puebla on August 24, before welcoming Atlas to the Estadio Olímpico Universitario on August 30.
Why hasn’t he played yet?
Ramsey is still recovering from a hamstring injury sustained back in March. The setback has kept him sidelined not only from club action but also from key fixtures with the Welsh national team in their run-up to the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted in Mexico.
