Rafinha leaves PSG for Qatar
The 29-year-old Brazilian leaves the Parisian club and signs for Qatar’s Al-Arabi for the next two seasons.
On Saturday, while the Paris Saint-Germain squad was preparing to play their league match against Nantes, Rafinha Alcântara’s departure was made official. The Brazilian midfielder has officially signed for the Qatari club Al-Arabi for two seasons. Rafinha leaves on a free transfer, as PSG was looking above all to get the player off the books, with Le Parisien going as far to report that the 29-year-old “will not leave a great memory for the fans”.
The Brazilian midfielder started out being regularly used by Thomas Tüchel upon his arrival in October 2020. But he never entered Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, who became PSG manager a few months later. In total, the former Barcelona player played a total of just 39 games with PSG, without scoring a single goal.
This is another joint move by Galtier-Campos, who are trying to get rid of all the dead wood. The last player on the club’s black list is Mauro Icardi. At the moment there is no movement with the Argentine striker.
