The defender was down for five minutes before being carried off the pitch following a collision with Eduardo Camavinga. The medics attended to La Fabrica product and were forced to put him on the stretcher.
Asencio was swapped out for David Alaba with a quarter of an hour to go in the second leg of the playoff against Benfica. The clash came just moments after Real Madrid´s other center back Antonio Rudiger was tended to by medics after another bit of friendly fire with Alvaro Carreras.
Spanish television reported that Asencio was taken to the hospital for more evaluation Just minutes after the injury to Asencio, Vinicius Jr. scored the 2-1 to take a 3-1 lead in the aggregate.
