Wolves delivered one of the big surprises of the weekend in the Premier League. Continuing on with the terrible season for Liverpool in the league, Jürgen Klopp’s team fell to new depths after losing 3-0 to Wolves, with Raúl Jiménez entering the field in the second half.

Raúl Jiménez continues his battle to return to his best level and has lost his starting position with the arrival of Julen Lopetegui. The Mexican striker is no longer a starter for Wolves and in the game against Liverpool he featured in his seventh game in a season where injuries have prevented him from playing regularly.

Liverpool's woes continue with the latest defeat, their 7th of the season so far.

Jiménez finally returns

Against Liverpool, Jiménez had to wait his turn on the bench and it wasn’t until the second half that he managed to participate in the game. In the 60th minute when the striker entered the pitch in place of ex-Atlético Madrid forward, Matheus Cunha.

In the 30 minutes he played, Raúl Jiménez had a very respectable rating of 6.6 per Sofascore after he recorded a key pass, 82 percent passing success rate, two duels won and one big chance missed.

Wolves move up the table

Fortunately, Raúl’s missed chance did not have an impact on the scoreboard as Wolves took all three points in a convincing manner. At the start of the match, Joël Matip scored an own goal and 12 minutes in Craig Dawson scored the second for Lopetegui’s team. In the second half, Adama Traore linked up with Ruben Neves to seal the match 3-0.

With this result, Wolves reached 20 points to put themselves 15th in the league; Liverpool are in 10th place with 29 points.
