Raúl Jiménez scores for Fulham against Aston Villa: when was his previous Premier League goal?
The former Club América ended a lengthy goal drought at Villa Park but couldn’t stop his team from losing.

Mexico striker Raúl Jiménez has finally ended his lengthy goal drought in the Premier League. The former Club América attacker scored Fulham’s consolation goal in the 70th minute of a 3-1 defeat away to Aston Villa, who took an unassailable lead thanks to an own goal from USMNT defender Antonee Robinson and further strikes from John McGinn and Ollie Watkins.
Jiménez nets first Fulham goal past Argentina World Cup winner
Robinson partly redeemed himself by laying the ball on a plate for Jiménez to slot past Argentina’s World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez with 20 minutes to go, but The Cottagers were unable to mount a comeback in the closing stages.
As a result of a third defeat in four matches, Fulham have slipped down to 16th spot in the Premier League table, just two places above the relegation zone. However, they do have a six-point cushion over Luton Town, who are currently 18th.

How many Premier League goals has Jiménez scored?

Haaland fastest to 49
Jiménez’s strike at Villa Park was his first in the English top flight since 10 March 2022, when he scored for former team Wolverhampton Wanderers in a 4-0 thrashing of Watford. The 32-year-old has scored 41 goals in 146 Premier League games, although 34 of those came in his first 86 appearances in the competition, before he suffered a serious head injury in November 2020.
Since then, he has found the net only seven times in 60 matches, having also been hampered by other injury issues.
