Amid reports suggesting that Rodrigo Aguirre is set to leave Rayados to join Toluca, the Uruguayan continues to fulfill his role with the Albiazules and scored a brace in Friday’s friendly against Juárez at the BBVA Training Center when ended 2-2.

Rayados took the field with a changed team: Luis Cardenas; Edson Gutierrez, Axel Grijalva, Gustavo Sánchez, Diego Escamilla, Joel Domínguez; Omar Govea, Joao Rojas, Víctor López, Erick Carballo and Rodrigo Aguirre.

The team got off to a flying start - and were two goals ahead within the first ten minutes though Rodrigo Aguirre.

Juárez reacted ten minutes later and pulled a goal back through Tomás Molina and came close to levelling the score only to be denied by the superb El Mochis Cárdenas.

An equaliser did finally arrive in the second period - new signing Avilés Hurtado converted from the penalty spot against his former club on 62 minutes.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday morning for a rematch, with different line-ups. It will be the last test for both teams ahead of the Apertura 2023, which gets underway next weekend.
