Madrid without Benzema for trip to Vallecas

On Sunday, Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that striker Karim Benzema would miss the match against Rayo. Benzema missed Madrid’s training session on Sunday morning and could is also a doubt for Madrid’s home match against Cádiz at the Bernabéu on Thursday 10 November.

Centre-back Antonio Rüdiger also missed training on Sunday and is out for the match against Andoni Iraola’s side, while fellow German Toni Kroos is also ruled out. A win for Madrid would see Los Blancos move to the top of the LaLiga table ahead of Barcelona, who beat Almería at Camp Nou on Saturday night.
