Real Betis targeting three Real Madrid players in ambitious summer move
Real Betis are exploring multiple Real Madrid targets as negotiations begin ahead of a busy summer transfer window in Seville.
Real Betis have made Real Madrid left back Fran García one of their top priorities as they look to strengthen the position ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The Seville-based club has already contacted Madrid to learn the terms of a potential deal, and negotiations are underway for a player whose transfer fee is expected to be around €10 million ($11.5 million).
At the same time, Betis has also inquired about the availability of striker Gonzalo García. However, those discussions are considerably more complicated, with Real Madrid reportedly seeking more than €30 million to €35 million ($34.4 million to $40.1 million) for a percentage of the forward’s rights, while also insisting on including a buyback clause.
Betis must solve Fran García salary issue
The transfer fee is only part of the challenge.
Fran García’s salary is another hurdle Betis will have to overcome, as his current wages are significantly higher than what the club typically pays members of its squad.
Even so, the 26-year-old remains one of Betis’ preferred options at left back, alongside Kaiki Bruno, and club officials believe a deal is achievable before the start of the new season.
Gonzalo García also on Betis’ radar
Gonzalo García is another name under serious consideration as Betis looks to add reinforcements up front.
The young striker fits the profile the club is targeting, but Real Madrid’s financial demands currently make a deal extremely difficult. Madrid’s valuation is well beyond what Betis is expected to spend this summer.
Gonzalo boosted his reputation last season by scoring a hat trick in Real Madrid’s 5-1 victory over Betis at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Dani Ceballos remains a long-term target
The negotiations over Fran García come as Betis continues to pursue another familiar face: Dani Ceballos.
The midfielder has long been linked with a return to his former club and is said to be eager to move back to Seville. However, any deal would depend on Betis creating enough room within its wage structure to meet the player’s salary expectations.
