Endrick has gone from being Brazil’s poster-boy to being stuck in an endless tunnel; the Palmeiras player is going through an obviously rough patch in his short career. He has not scored since November and is now not even a guaranteed starter in the side. Having began the last few games on the bench, his form is something that has not gone unnoticed in Brazil.

Against Ituano at the weekend, the player did not feature for a single minute of the game, which Palmeiras won by the finest of margins. They beat Sao Bernardo a few days before with the same result, also without using Endrick to make the difference he surely could have. He has disappeared completely from the final phase of the Campeonato Paulista, and as such, neither a goal nor an assist has come his way.

Huge media pressure on Endrick

It was on the 5th March, against Guaraní, when he last played 45 minutes, albeit without scoring, which he hasn’t done since November. On top of that, he only has a single assist this year, against Internacional.

The young footballer is, unsurprisingly, receiving a lot of criticism, which has undoubtedly caused the player to continue his dip in form. At just 16 years old, Endrick is clearly not used to such media pressure; until now, all he had done was enjoy himself on the football pitch.

The word from Brazil is that Endrick was seen crying on the bench at the weekend - and not for the first time. After being substituted against Bragantino, he was seen sat in tears. And it happened again just a few weeks ago. From a Real Madrid perspective, who have an agreement to sign him as of 2024, they have already moved to deal with the situation: Juni Calafat has taken the decision to travel to Brazil to meet with the player.

His transfer to Real Madrid was made official on 15 December 2022. In the summer of 2024, when he is of legal age, he will join up with the squad in the Spanish capital. For now, however, Endrick’s priority is to get back to doing what he does best: enjoying himself on a football pitch.
