The Spanish club sent a message on social media in which they showed Chicharito celebrating a goal in the 2014-15 season.

Javier Hernández’s time in Europe certainly impressed over the years: the Mexican left for Manchester United where he became a champion before being loaned to Real Madrid where, despite not having continuity, he managed to leave a positive mark on the club and its fanbase.

Now, the former LA Galaxy player is about to return to Liga MX with Chivas for the Clausura 2024. As this possibility swirls around the rumour mill, Real Madrid used social media to remember the Mexican’s time with the team from the capital, in a post made just before the start of their Copa del Rey match against Arandina.

Javier Chicharito speaks to AS:

Madrid’s ‘Different season, same passion’ message

With the phrase: “Different season, same passion”, the Spanish team recalled when ‘Chicharito’ Hernández joined their squad in the 2014-2015 season, in which he scored an impressive 9 goals and provided the same number of assists in 33 games. It should be remembered that Chicharito was the player who scored the winning goal against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League quarter finals of the Champions League that season.

After playing for Bayer Leverkusen, West Ham and Sevilla, Hernández decided to return to the American continent with the LA Galaxy of MLS; he recently finished his contract with the side and, despite concern from some, is free to join Chivas for next season: reports say he has already said yes to a move, and that it is a matter of time.
