Real Madrid set to make offer for Chicago Fire goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina

Slonina has represented the USA from U15 to U20 level. In total, he has featured 25 times for the Chicago Fire.

Real Madrid are preparing a bid for American goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 18-year-old netminder has played 14 times in the current MLS season, conceding 20 goals and keeping five clean sheets. In total, he has featured 25 times between the sticks for the Chicago Fire.

Slonina has represented the USA at U15, U16, U17, and U20 levels. On 21 January 2022, he was called into the USMNT’s World Cup Qualifying camp but has yet to make his full senior debut under Gregg Berhalter.

In August 2021, he made his professional debut for the Chicago Fire against New York City FC, becoming the youngest starting keeper in league history at 17 years and 81 days.

Madrid preparing offer for Slonina

Romano reports that the Chicago Fire are waiting for an offer from Real Madrid for the young goalkeeper.

The Fire are currently 14th in the MLS league table standings.
