Real Madrid’s international players return ahead of LaLiga action
Real Madrid completed the second training session of the week on Wednesday, with an eye on Sunday’s LaLiga match against Valladolid.
Real Madrid completed the second training session of the week on Wednesday, with an eye on Sunday’s league game against Real Valladolid in a session in which Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti had seven internationals return.
Aurélien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Rodrygo Goes, Vinícius Junior, Éder Militao, David Alaba and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois have all returned from international duty. Alaba and Courtois both trained in Valdebebas, leaving their respective muscular problems behind them.
Courtois and Alaba return from injury
Courtois left Belgium’s training camp on Sunday after suffering a “minor adductor strain”, according to the Belgian Football Association. Alaba, who has not played for Real Madrid since 21 February against Liverpool when he picked up an injury after 26 minutes, was back in action for his country, playing in the second 45 minutes of the 2-1 win over Estonia. The versatile defender, who has suffered two muscle injuries this season, took part in the session with the rest of his team-mates without any problems.
The only internationals who have yet to join the squad are Spain’s Dani Carvajal, Dani Ceballos and Nacho, Croatia’s Luka Modric and Uruguay’s Fede Valverde, all five of whom played for their respective national teams on Tuesday. Due to these absences, Ancelotti used players from Real Madrid Castilla, the reserve team coached by Madrid legend Raúl González, to play a match that concluded the training session.
