Real Madrid’s possible XI in LaLiga clash against Girona on Tuesday
This is how Real Madrid could line up against Girona in LaLiga on Tuesday.
Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid travel to Girona on Tuesday as part of a hectic schedule on several fronts. The Italian coach will be without David Alaba, Ferland Mendy, Dani Ceballos, Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema for the LaLiga match against Míchel’s side, who currently sit 11th in the table.
Dani Carvajal was rested against Celta Vigo on the weekend, with a view to playing in this game. In the heart of defence, Antonio Rüdiger will start together with Eder Militao, who scored against Celta with a thumping header, and Nacho will occupy the left-back position. First-choice netminder Thibaut Courtois will be between the sticks.
Old guard called back in
In midfield, Aurélien Tchouaméni is expected to start alongside Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, who were both rested in the 2-0 victory over Celta. Dani Ceballos is suspended for the clash after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season and Fede Valverde could be rested at Montilivi.
Rodrygo in the false 9
Rodrygo, who was superb in the win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge will start in the false nine role in Benzema’s absence. Benzema will be rested as Los Blancos prepare for the upcoming matches against Almería, Real Sociedad, Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final and Manchester City in the Champions League semi-finals. The in-form Marco Asensio is likely to start in the forward line with Rodrygo and Vinícius.
