Real to face Liverpool in UCL last 16

Real Madrid will play Liverpool in the Champions Leauge Round of 16 in a repeat of last season’s final. The Spanish side won 1-0 in Paris in May to earn its 14th European crown.

The first leg will be played in Liverpool on the 14, 15, 21 or 22 of February. The second leg will be played in Madrid on the 7, 8, 14, or 15 of March. Both games will begin at 9 p.m. CET (3 p.m. ET).

Liverpool finished second in Group A, tied with 15 points with Napoli after an undefeated record at home, and their only loss coming on an away game to the Italian side. Real Madrid finished first in Group F. They will be playing against Mohammed Salah, whose seven goals make him one of the top goalscorers in the Champions League.

These two teams have played each other a total of nine times in European competitions, with Real Madrid winning five, Liverpool winning three, and one resulting in a tie.

Elsewhere in the draw, German champions Bayern Munich drew against Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City will face RB Leipzig, Milan will play Tottenham Hotspur, and Borussia Dortmund will be up against Chelsea.
