Guillermo Ochoa’s positive season for Salernitana in Italy’s Serie A has caused him to be on the radar of many clubs across Europe’s top leagues, with many people turning their heads thanks to his strong performances across the season.

PSG in France’s Ligue 1 are on of the teams reportedly interested in acquiring the shot stopper, according to information that has been revealed over the past few days. The Mexican, it is reported, is thought of as a potential replacement for Sergio Rico, PSG’s Spanish goalkeeper who suffered a serious incident last week which has caused him serious health problems.

Ochoa has made a huge impact in Serie A

French media outlet Score reported that the current league champions, who have just seen Lionel Messi leave them for Inter Miami, see Ochoa as an option to reinforce their squad, saying that he “is known for his big performances against the strongest teams such as Napoli or Inter this season, he made a name for himself in the 2014 World Cup”.

As well as saying that “PSG could bring in Ochoa, the report continues, saying “this year, Ochoa was one of the pillars that allowed Salernitana to remain in Serie A, and he could leave the club this summer. At 37-years-old, the goalkeeper would not cost a large fee, and PSG could afford him.”

The outlet also explains that Ochoa would be a solid backup for Donnarumma, but it remains to be seen what happens with PSG’s current substitute goalkeeper, Keylor Navas, who hsa finished his loan spell in the Premier League. The Costa Rican did not settle for number two in Paris, so PSG will most likely need to move him on if they are to bring in another goalkeeper, one who may not mind warming the bench for the majority of the season.
