Ricardo Pepi scores in PSV’s victory over Heerenveen
The USMNT forward continues to take advantage of the minutes that Peter Bosz gives him.
PSV hosted Heerenveen at the Philips Stadion in the Netherlands on matchday 15 of the Eredivisie on Wednesday. Peter Bosz has found the perfect formula for his team, who have been in excellent form this season, winning all 15 matches, with a goal difference of +46.
Midfielder Guus Til opened the scoring for PSV in the 33rd minute before USMNT striker Ricardo Pepi, who continues to make the most of the opportunities off the bench, doubled the home side’s lead.
The 20-year-old came on in the 76th minute and just two minutes later took advantage of a pass from Joey Veerman to get one-v-one with the Heerenveen goalkeeper and finish with his right foot to seal the victory.
After scoring today, Pepi now has six goals and an assist for PSV this season. The forward will hope to keep scoring and stay sharp ahead of his next USMNT call-up as he continues to compete with Folarin Balogun for the No 9 role under Gregg Berhalter.
