Robert Lewandowski injury update: Will the Barcelona striker play against Athletic Club?
Lewandowski missed Tuesday’s Copa del Rey game against Atlético Madrid because of a eye socket fractured sustained last weekend.

Robert Lewandowski, who missed Barcelona’s recent match against Atlético Madrid after suffering a fracture on the inner side of his left eye socket against Villarreal, is expected to be on the roster for Saturday’s game against Athletic Club at San Mamés, barring any last-minute setbacks. The Polish striker trained today at full pace alongside his teammates, wearing a protective mask over the injured area.
Youth reinforcements step up
With Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde sidelined for at least a month, coach Hansi Flick called up two players from Barcelona B: right-back Xavi Espart and left-footed center-back Álvaro Cortés.
Winter signing Patricio Pacífico also joined the session, while Diego Kochen and Tommy trained with the first team.
Celebrating Araújo’s milestone
Ronald Araújo was another focal point of the day. Teammates honored the defender for reaching 200 appearances with Barcelona by presenting him with a commemorative jersey and capturing the moment with a group photo.
