Robert Lewandowski has spoken about his desire to leave Bayern Munich this summer.
The Polish striker’s preferred destination is Barcelona, but Bayern want the 34-year-old to see out the final year of his contract at the Allianz Arena.
Speaking on international duty with the Poland national team, Lewandowski discussed his future.
“It is certain that my story with Bayern Munich is over. After what has happened in recent months, I cannot imagine further co-operation.
“A transfer is the best solution for both parties. Bayern are a serious club and I believe that they will not stop me just because they can,” Lewandowski said.
Xavi admits interest in Lewandowski
Barcelona’s first offer for Lewandowski, a reported €32 million, was rejected by Bayern.
Barça head coach Xavi Hernández has also spoken publicly about the club’s interest in signing Lewandowski.
“He’s one of the options, of course, one of the possibilities. He wants to leave. There are negotiations, he has one year of his contract left, but it won’t be easy being Bayern. But yes it’s one of the options,” Xavi explained in a recent press conference.
