Roberto Firmino becomes the latest player to move to Saudi Arabia

Firmino was officially announced as a new Al-Ahli player after leaving Liverpool.

Roberto Firmino has become the latest player to join the Saudi Pro League.

On Tuesday, the Brazilian forward was officially announced as a new Al-Ahli player after leaving Liverpool and joins the Saudi side on a free transfer.

Seven years at Anfield

Firmino left the Anfield outfit at the end of last season after seven years at the Premier League club.

The reigning Saudi champions have also signed goalkeeper Édouard Mendy from Chelsea.

In his time on Merseyside, Firmino scored 111 goals in 362 games, winning the Premier League and Champions League under German head coach Jurgen Klopp.

Steven Gerrard named head coach of Al-Ettifaq

On Monday, former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was announced as the new head coach of Saudi club Al-Ettifaq.

Gerrard, who was sacked by Premier League club Aston Villa in October, returns to club management after a spell away.

The former Liverpool captain replaces Spanish coach Antonio Cazorla in the dugout at Al-Ettifaq.
