João Mendes de Assis Moreira, better known at the moment for being the son of Ronaldinho, Barça legend, is going to join the Blaugrana.

Ronaldinho himself revealed the news to RAC1, admitting that he will spend more time in Barcelona because his son is going to join the club after impressing at trials. After leaving Cruzeiro, João will start a new chapter in the club’s underage system.

João Mendes de Assis Moreira has the advantage of owning a Spanish passport. Almost 18, he is still in a phase of development and has not been included in any call-ups for Brazil.

Young Ronaldinho

He can play either as a forward or an attacking midfielder, is strong with both feet, and has been described as a skillful player.

Ronaldinho, 42, maintains a good relationship with Joan Laporta, the president who signed him at Camp Nou and who is the club’s current president.

Negotiations took place directly between Laporta and the young player’s uncle Roberto de Assis, who was also Ronaldinho’s agent.

The former Barcelona No. 10′s son is now aiming to follow in his father’s footsteps and play in the famous Blaugrana jersey.
