WORLD CUP 2023
Royal visit ahead of La Roja’s World Cup adventure
Spanish Queen Doña Letizia visited the national team at their Madrid training camp and wished them well ahead of the 2023 World Cup.
As Jorge Vilda’s Spain team prepare at their Las Rozas training base on the outskirts of Madrid ahead of the 2023 World Cup, they were surprised by royalty on Tuesday morning as Queen Letizia paid a visit to see the La Roja squad as they fine-tune their preparation.
Head of the Spanish FA, Luis Rubiales was on hand to chaperone the queen as they watched the squad carry out their morning session sitting in the stands also accompanied by Montsé Tomé, Jorge Vilda’s assistant.
At the end of the session, the queen spent some time with the players with the RFEF presenting the Asturian with a signed shirt and official Adidas 2023 World Cup matchball.
Spain now head to Asturias with the final squad of 23 players set to be announced by coach Vilda on Friday. La Roja then face Panama and Denmark in friendly games before the tournament kicks-off on 17 July.
