Santiago Giménez has become the most valuable Mexican player in the world, according to Transfermarkt, where his value has reached €50 million ($54.5m).

The website unveiled its new values for some players and highlighted the rise of the former Cruz Azul talent. Feyenoord acquired the services of the Mexico striker for less than €10 million ($10.9m) in what has proved to be a fine deal for the Dutch side.

Feyenoord did, however, fail to qualify for the next round of the UEFA Champions League (Lazio and Atlético de Madrid advanced) but by finishing third above Celtic they will play in the Europa League, a competition in which Giménez shone last season.
