Santiago Giménez lived up to the high expectation as the former Cruz Azul striker made his debut in the Champions League for Feyenoord. The Mexican striker scored a double against Lazio on Wednesday to give the Dutch champions all three points, a result which sees the Rotterdam based side top Group E of the competition after the opening three matches.

Santiago Giménez’s double earned him a place in the Team of the Week for matchday three of the Champions League, where he shares a place up front with Evanilson (Porto) and Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal). As if that were not enough, the Mexican was the MVP of the match between Feyenoord and Lazio.

Santiago Giménez’s next match in the Champions League will be on Tuesday, 7 November against Lazio on the fourth matchday of the tournament as Feyenoord’s mission to advance their qualification to the round of 16 continues with the Dutch side also pitted with Atletico Madrid and Glasgow Celtic in Group E.
