Santiago Giménez may leave AC Milan: What next for Mexico star?
Santiago Giménez, who has not played for AC Milan in several months, is reportedly among a host of Rossoneri stars earmarked for sale.

Santiago Giménez continues to run into bad news in Italy. Just as he prepares to return to the field, his future at AC Milan appears to be in doubt - a situation that also raises questions about his place with the Mexican national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Giménez may need to consider a new destination in Europe, as his standing at San Siro has become increasingly fragile. A lack of minutes and a series of recent club decisions have put him among the potential departures for next season.
Milan losing patience with Giménez
Lagging behind in the race for the Scudetto, Milan is reportedly preparing sweeping changes to its roster this summer. According to Tuttosport, head coach Massimiliano Allegri has identified six players on the outgoing list, with Giménez at the top. He’s joined by David Odogu, Pervis Estupiñán, Ruben Loftus‑Cheek, Christopher Nkunku, and Niclas Füllkrug.
Where could Giménez go next?
Despite the troubling signs, several clubs are already showing interest in Giménez. Among them are Sunderland and West Ham, both of which could become his next landing spot in the English Premier League - and both willing to offer Milan a favorable deal for the striker.
Milan is expected to seek around €22 million ($25 million) for Giménez, a figure that could rise if he delivers a strong performance at the World Cup with Mexico. That would turn the “Bebote” into an even more appealing asset for both Milan and prospective buyers.
When did Giménez last play for Milan?
The Mexican international has not played for Milan since October 28, 2025, when he logged 62 minutes against Atalanta. An ankle operation has sidelined him for four months, limiting him to just 11 appearances in his first full season with the Rossoneri.
