Saudi Arabian side interested in Mexico forward Henry Martín
The Mexican striker will return to the Eagles after his participation in the Gold Cup.
In these days when world football is focused on Saudi Arabia, soccer players are looking forward to going beyond European and South American borders to join Cristiano Ronaldo in the Middle East. Henry Martín could have been one of them, but the América striker rejected the option.
According to Récord, people close to the Aguilas striker were contacted by a Saudi team during the Gold Cup to discuss Martin’s contractual situation. It should be remembered that the player has a contract until July 2024 with the Mexican giants. The same source mentions that there has been no formal offer and that the former Xolos de Tijuana striker is looking to remain in Mexico in order to remain part of the Mexican National Team.
At the top of his game
According to Transfermarkt, Martin is valued at €6 million, the highest valuation in his professional career. The Mexican is the sixth most expensive player in América’s squad after Julián Quiñones, Álvaro Fidalgo, Richard Sánchez, Kevin Álvarez and Diego Váldes.
The Coapa board is expected to negotiate a contract renewal in the coming months as do not want Martín to leave as a free agent next summer.
