Sergio Busquets and Gerard Piqué being linked with future move to Inter Miami CF

According to several reports, the FC Barcelona players have been negotiating with the David Beckham-owned team for several weeks.

Xavi Hernández is working on rejuvenating FC Barcelona’s roster for the future and several experienced players will not continue next season. Two of those players are Sergio Busquets and Gerard Piqué and it seems that this will be their last campaign at Camp Nou with a switch to Major League Soccer being a potential option.

According to several reports, the FC Barcelona veterans have been negotiating with with Inter Miami for a2023 summer arrival for the second part of the Major League Soccer season. Busquets’ contract expires next summer and Barcelona are unwilling to renew. The 34-year-old midfielder wanted to play in MLS this year, but decided to stay in Barcelona to be in top form for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Piqué losing a spot in the starting XI

Another player that is aware that his time is coming to an end with FC Barcelona is Gerard Piqué. The former Spanish international didn’t start in the 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano over the weekend during the first game of the 2022/23 La Liga season and the defender would like to play in MLS before retiring.

The 35-year-old wants to fulfill his contract at Camp Nou this season and he is expected to arrive in Major League Soccer next year. Gerard Piqué's contract expires in 2024, but FC Barcelona is willing to part ways with the defender before it expires. According to Transfermarkt, Inter Miami would have to pay a $5 million fee to sign him next summer.
