Sergio Canales assigned shirt number at Monterrey: a look at Rayados’ recent No.10s
The Spaniard has been handed a number that carries a lot of prestige. He inherits the number 10 jersey from Duván Vergara, who wore it during the past two years.
After several days of speculation, Monterrey finally official announced the arrival of Sergio Canales. The Spanish midfielder bid Betis farewell and will play outside of Spain for the first time in his career. Canales becomes just the second Spanish player to play for La Pandilla - Paco Luna was the first, spending a year at the club from 2000 to 2001.
During the announcement, Rayados Sports Director ‘Tato’ Noriega revealed that Canales will wear the number 10 jersey - inheriting the number from Duván Vergara who wore it for the past two seasons.
