“Excited to return”
After the game, the former Real Madrid star took a moment to address all the supporters present at the Estadio BBVA:
“Thanks to all the fans. We hope to have many more nights like this. It’s hugely exciting to get back on the field and win. We’re grateful for all the love from the fans who deserve to celebrate many victories this year. It wasn’t an easy game from start to finish and the Mexican league requires that level of concentration. We have to keep growing as a team on a collective level, keep improving things. We have to try to gain confidence and a good state of mind to face all the challenges we have ahead of us.”

Positive debut
The 38-year-old played 80 minutes before being substituted by Antonio Leone. During the game, the Camas native completed 93% of his passes, won all of his duels, recovering the ball seven times and even went close to opening his account in the blue and white jersey.
